Rehabilitation of Destitute Women Swadhar Shelter Home: Solidarity of the Nation Society is successfully running a shelter home for the rehabilitation of destitute women in Lucknow City. The project is being supported by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India. A Swadhar Shelter Home has been established in Jankipuram, adjacent to Sahara States, Lucknow for providing to shelter to 50 destitute women- widows, deserted, rescued and other poor women. In order to rehabilitate the destitute women, vocational training in the trades of food preservation, chikan embroidery, tailoring and computer learning are being successfully conducted by the society from his own sources of funds. The women inmates and their dependent children are being provided facilities of Fooding, lodging, legal and medical consultancy, educational and vocational training, health education, etc. During the last one year, about 30 women have been rehabilitated in different places. About 5 rescued girls from Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Mahrajganj were sent to the shelter home for providing shelter and rehabilitation by Cross Border Anti-Trafficking Network. The society has also made sincere efforts for the selling of finished products made by these destitute women in open market and in the exhibition and fairs organized by the government and non-government agencies. At present organization is conducted training programme in the trade of Cutting, Tailoring, Food preservation and manufacturing of Ready-Made Garments for rehabilitation of inmates of Swadhar- Shelter home.
